“Go Outside and Play” Prescription Pads

Sponsors: Little Traverse Bay Band Health Clinic, Little Traverse Primary Care, Northern Michigan Health Department, Petoskey Childhealth Associates

Local healthcare providers will participate in a “Get Outdoors” campaign in their offices by displaying GKO materials – offering to parents/caregivers readily usable information. At well baby checkups and annual physicals, doctors will recommend regular outdoor play and contact with nature as integral to healthy childhood development using the “Go Outside and Play” prescription pads.

Come to the Youth Services area for ideas, activities, tips and books focused on getting outdoors. Exploring your backyard or the many trails, lakes and wetlands in Emmet County is a great way to spend time with your child. Discover together and enjoy the simple wonders when you go outside to play. Story hour will be focused on this topic as well. Usable info, inspiration and hands-on activities for the kids.
